Rejuvenation or Rasayana Chikitsa is a traditional therapy to restore the body’s vitality to its fullest capacity. The primary objective is to fine tune the body and strengthen all the tissues. Shiroabhyangam focuses on head, face, and neck, the areas which happen to be the commonest and most vulnerable to stress and tension. Massaging the head from time to time brings about a state of calmness, positivity, and tranquility. The Ayurvedic texts have indications of daily oil application on the head, particularly on the crown and ears before bath and head bath with plain water for a healthy living. The oil is kept on the crown (adhipati) for a while. Coconut oil is the widely used oil for head anointing. One can find hundreds of coconut based medicated ayurvedic hair oils for application and massage. Oils are made as per the condition of the patient for eg. Migraine, sinusitis, dental ache and problems, eye disorders, ear disorders, bad breath, insomnia, and mental illnesses.

It is rightly said that one who works silently is not valued much. Similarly our legs and feet bear the maximum weight of our body, but are the most ignored part. It is also rightly said that your legs and feet talk a lot about your nature and personality.

Padabhyangam involves massaging of lower legs, feet, and ankles. It is a stimulating and soothing massage that prevents cracking, numbness, cramps of the areas, and relieves fatigue. It prevents contraction of the ligaments and muscles around the feet and legs.

  • Helps in recovering from ankle sprain, ligament tear, and fracture.
  • Promotes good sleep in people with insomnia.
  • Removes fatigue and cramps of the legs and feet.
  • Calms the mind.
  • Improved energy level.
  • Enhanced blood circulation.

As the foot is the site of all nerve endings, massaging the foot’s various points harmonizes the entire system of the human body.
